East Cowes
East Cowes is a community and civil parish to the north of the Isle of Wight, on the eastern bank of the River Medina next to its neighbour on the west financial institution, Cowes. Both communities are connected by the Cowes Floating Bridge, a chain ferryboat operated by the Isle of Wight Council. East Cowes is the site of Norris Castle, and Osborne House, the previous summer house of Queen Victoria as well as Prince Albert. The Prince had a major impact on the design of the location, as an example on the structure of St Mildred's Church in nearby Whippingham, which features distinctive turrets mimicing those discovered on a German castle.
