Bembridge
Bembridge is a town as well as civil parish located on the easternmost point of the Isle of Wight. It had a population of 3,848 according to the 2001 census of the UK, resulting in the doubtful claim by some homeowners that Bembridge is the largest town in England. Bembridge is house to a lot of the Island's wealthiest residents. The population had decreased to 3,688 at the 2011 Census. Bembridge sits at the extreme eastern point of the Isle of Wight. Before land reclamation the location of Bembridge and Yaverland was virtually an island, separated from the remainder of the Isle of Wight by Brading Haven. On the Joan Blaeu map of 1665, Bembridge is revealed as Binbridge I?le, nearly divided from the remainder of Wight by River Yar. Before the Victorian period Bembridge was a collection of wooden huts and farmhouses, which only combined into a real village with the building of the church in 1827 (later on rebuilt in 1846).
