Stump grinding refers to the procedure in which the stump of a tree that has been previously felled is removed. Generally when trees are felled several inches of the trunk and the root structure are left in the soil, making the adjacent area impractical to use as well as potentially appealing to pests or harbouring tree diseases like honey fungus. If your back garden has stumps in the ground, taking them out could clear the garden, offering more space which could be used to extend your lawn area or add new areas to install patio or decking. Experienced stump grinding businesses can take out stumps of any size.
The operation typically involves trimming the stump as close to the ground as possible using a chainsaw, and afterwards using specialised stump grinding machinery to grind away at the stump. Stumps are ground down to roughly 10-12 inches below the dirt surface to enable replanting, although in some cases landscaping projects may need the stump to be ground deeper than this. The wood chippings that are made by the stump grinding can be either infilled back into the hole and used as mulch in other areas of your garden, or the stump grinding company may remove it for you and dispose of it in an eco-friendly way. Additionally, lots of professional stump grinding companies offer specialist thin equipment that could be used if there is restricted access to your garden for instance, via a side alley.
The typical cost of Stump grinding is around £280. However, costs vary based upon the location and the provider picked. The upper price range can be as high as £336.

Heckmondwike is a town and electoral ward in the city district of Kirklees, West Yorkshire, in England. It lies 9 miles south west of Leeds. Traditionally a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is also near to Cleckheaton and Liversedge. Positioned at the edge of the Pennine hills, the land climbs to the north, east and south of the town centre. In total, the area covered by the town is 1 square mile. According to the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of around 16986, which has shrunk somewhat from the 17066 recorded in the 2001 Census. The records of the Poll Tax of 1379 usefully describes that there was a total of 7 households living in Heckmondwike, which consisted of 35 people. The bulk lived in isolated farms, such as Stubley Farm, where they would be on high ground watching over the marshy Spen Valley floor. By 1684, it is believed that there were around 250 individuals in the town, with the presence of around 50 dwellings. During the course of the course of the 19th century, the town built a track record for the manufacture of blankets. By 1811, the Blanket Hall was completed to enhance business in the town's essential manufacture. It was replaced by another hall in 1839 on Blanket Hall Street, although the remains of the original hall stayed in the town till the spring of 2008 when a range of old buildings were demolished. The remains of the Power Company buildings, however, continue to exist in the town, despite the fact that the town stopped generating electricity in 1924.
