Ambleside
Ambleside is a community in Cumbria, in North West England. Historically in Westmorland, it is situated ahead of Windermere, England's largest all-natural lake. The town is within the Lake District National Forest. Ambleside is carried out by South Lakeland District Council as well as forms part of the Lakes civil parish however from 1894 to 1935 it was a separate city district council. Ferryboats (still known as "cleaners", although now diesel powered) go to Bowness-on-Windermere and also Shore offering fine sights of the lake as well as surrounding hills.
