Brandon
Brandon is a village and civil church in the English area of Suffolk. Brandon lies in the Breckland area on the border of Suffolk with the adjacent county of Norfolk. Bordered by Forestry Commission and agricultural land it is considered a country town. The town's existing population is recorded as 9,636 people in the 2011 UK Census. Brandon has 3 colleges; 2 main, Forest Academy and Glade Academy; and also one Senior high school, IES Breckland. Brandon's population has continuously enhanced because the Second World War because of immigration. After the war, there was an influx of servicemen from Poland that resolved in the town and also in close-by Weeting, Norfolk. The Cold War saw lots of American service people and also their family members billeted around the town. The Greater London Council managed the building of a large Council estate off Thetford Road as well as Bury Road in the 1970s and many London households were moved to Brandon during that time.
