Abbots Langley
Abbots Langley is a sizeable village and civil parish in the English county of Hertfordshire. It is an old settlement and is named Langelai in the Domesday Book of 1086. This village has a long history of effective human residence. The first indications of human habitation in the region were discovered by prominent archaeologist Sir John Evans. The village is located on a saucer of clay covered by a layer of gravel, and consequently water supply has never been a problem; records show that in earlier times water could be drawn from a well only twenty feet deep.
