Hungerford
Hungerford is a historic market town and civil parish in Berkshire, England, 8 miles (13 kilometres) west of Newbury, 9 miles (14 km) east of Marlborough, 27 miles (43 kilometres) northeast of Salisbury and also 60 miles (97 kilometres) west of London. The Kennet and Avon Canal passes through the community from the west together with the River Dun, a significant tributary of the River Kennet. The confluence with the Kennet is to the north of the centre whence canal and river both continue east. Services include colleges, shops, cafés, dining establishments, as well as centers for the primary nationwide sports. The railway station is a small quit on the London to Exeter (through Taunton) Line. The parish was split right into 4 tithings: Hungerford or Community, Sanden Fee, Eddington with Hidden as well as Newtown as well as Charnham Street. North and South Standen and Charnham Street were formally detached parts of Wiltshire up until transferred to Berkshire in 1895. Leverton as well as Calcot were moved to Hungerford parish from Chilton Foliat in Wiltshire in 1895.
