Tonypandy
Tonypandy is a community and also area located in the area district of Rhondda Cynon Taf, within the historic county limits of Glamorgan, Wales, lying in the Rhondda Fawr Valley. A previous industrial coal mining community, today Tonypandy is best called the website of the 1910 Tonypandy riots. Tonypandy indicates fulling mill lea, from Welsh heap (archaic tonnau) for lea, layland, field, meadow or unploughed land; pannu for fulling and ty for residence (cf. pandy).
