Dalton-in-furness
Dalton-in-Furness is a village of 8,125 people, north east of Barrow-in-Furness, in Cumbria, England. It is the 2nd biggest negotiation in the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness after Barrow itself and is most kept in mind for being the place of South Lakes Safari Zoo. Dalton is pointed out in the Domesday Book, composed as "Daltune" as one of the towns developing the Manor of Hougun held by Tostig Godwinson, Earl of Northumbria. Historically, it was the resources of Furness. The old church of Dalton covered the area which is now occupied by the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness. The town is currently in the civil parish of Dalton Community with Newton. Historically a part of Lancashire, the community is related to a variety of famous musicians, consisting of George Romney.
