Front doors are a fundamental part of any house and as such, require a number of characteristics to be sure they're suited. Hardwood doors are one option and actually quite popular amongst householders for a number of reasons.
For a front door, you will need excellent security, weather resistance, durability and more importantly, fantastic aesthetic appeal. And that's just what a hardwood front door offers you. They look excellent and you may even choose from a range of colours and incredible designs to create a unique appeal for your property.
No matter your house, you could think about a Victorian, Edwardian contemporary or even country front door design. Then the colour could range from a traditional white or black, to bolder red, green and blue.
Hardwood doors are preferred over the less costly uPVC option because they're much more sturdy and look excellent. They can set you back a little more, however the extra cost is worthwhile if you think about the fantastic benefits.
The common cost of Hardwood doors is £900. Costs fluctuate based upon the materials and the tradesman hired. The upper price range can be as high as £1035. The material costs are in general about £225

An engineered wooden door is a door made out of multiple pieces of wood. This is opposed to solid wooden doors that are made out of one piece of wood.Engineered wooden doors are usually covered by veneer to make them look like they are made from one piece of wood. They tend to be sturdier and straighter than solid doors.
