North Berwick
North Berwick is a seaside community and also previous royal burgh in East Lothian, Scotland. It is located on the south coast of the Firth of Forth, approximately 20 miles (32 km) east-northeast of Edinburgh. North Berwick came to be a trendy vacation resort in the 19th century due to its 2 sandy bays, the East (or Milsey) Bay and also the West Bay, as well as remains to bring in holidaymakers. Golf links at the ends of each bay are open to site visitors. The dimension and population of the town continued to be relatively steady until the 1970s, at which point housebuilding started in earnest around the perimeter of the town, initially to the south (1950s-- 70s), then a series of major developments to the west (1980s-present) along the line of the train. There is talk of further developments focussing on "affordable housing" on the south side of the town. While the population could not have absolutely "blew up", residence prices have. North Berwick constantly shows up on top of national house rate studies, and like-for-like prices approach Edinburgh. North Berwick was provided as the most pricey seaside community in Scotland in 2006, and also was second to St. Andrews in 2009.
