Lasswade
Lasswade is a village as well as civil parish in Midlothian, Scotland, on the River North Esk, 9 miles (14.5 kilometres) southern of Edinburgh city centre, between Dalkeith and Loanhead. Melville Castle lies to the north east. The Gaelic type is Leas Bhaid, implying the "clump at the fort." Lasswade lies within the Edinburgh Green Belt. Most of the population is retired or commutes to Edinburgh to function. There are, however, numerous neighborhood companies, consisting of steed riding stables (Edinburgh & Lasswade Riding Centre), golf driving varieties and golf links Kings Acre Golf Course and also Melville Golf Centre), an alpine plant nursery (Kevock Garden Plants) a bar (The Laird and Pet Dog) as well as a dining establishment (The Paper Mill). There is additionally an athletics club, Lasswade Athletics Club, developed in 1981.
