Kidwelly is a town and also area in Carmarthenshire, southwest Wales, around 7 miles (11 kilometres) northwest of the most heavily populated town in the area, Llanelli. In the 2001 census the community of Kidwelly returned a population of 3,289, boosting to 3,523 at the 2011 Census. It rests on the River Gwendraeth over Carmarthen Bay. Neighborhood attractions include Kidwelly Castle, established in 1106; a fourteenth-century bridge and also gate; the former quay (now a nature get); a Norman parish church, and also an industrial gallery.
