Catterick Garrison
Catterick Garrison is a significant garrison and town located three miles south of Richmond in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England. The town lies inside the Central Richmondshire electoral division of North Yorkshire County Council and divided among the Hipswell and Scotton wards of Richmondshire District Council. The town is divided among two civil parishes. The southern part of the town, south of a small stream called Leadmill Gill, is inside the civil parish of Scotton. The northern part forms the greater part of the civil parish of Hipswell. Every parish has its personal parish council. It's the biggest British Army garrison in the world, having a population of about 13000 and measuring more than 2400 acres.
