This will depend on your property, but commonly painted areas include rendered walls, guttering, soffits and fascias, and window frames. Generally you can paint what you want but on older or listed buildings, you may be restricted. An experienced painter will tell you what is possible.
Kinlochleven
Kinlochleven is a town located in Lochaber, in the Scottish Highlands and also lies at the eastern end of Loch Leven. To the north lie the Mamores ridge; to the south lie the mountains flanking Glen Coe. The village was created from two formerly different small areas - Kinlochmore to the north of the River Leven in Inverness-shire as well as Kinlochbeg to the south of the Leven in Argyll - adhering to the construction of an aluminium smelter as well as associated housing for its staff members. The handling plant was powered by a hydroelectric scheme positioned in the mountains over, and made Kinlochleven the first village in the world to have every house linked to electrical energy, creating the expression "The Electric Village". In 1991, the town (according to yearly census returns) had just over 1000 occupants in some 420 houses. Today it is a noteworthy tourist destination as well as centre for hill searches.
