Portree
Portree is the largest town on, as well as capital of, the Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. It is the place for the only senior high school on the island, Portree Secondary school. Public transport services are restricted to buses. Portree has a harbour, fringed by high cliffs, with a pier designed by Thomas Telford. Destinations in the town include the Aros centre which commemorates the island's Gaelic heritage. Further arts provision is made via arts organisation ATLAS Arts, a Creative Scotland regularly-funded organisation. The town also acts as a centre for visitors discovering the island. The Royal Hotel is the website of MacNab's Inn, the last meeting place of Plants MacDonald as well as Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1746. The community plays host to the Isle of Skye's shinty club, Skye Camanachd. They dip into Pairc nan Laoch over the community when traveling to Struan. Around 939 individuals (37.72% of the population) can speak Scottish Gaelic.
