Marlborough
Marlborough is a market town and civil parish in the English region of Wiltshire on the Old Bath Road, the old main road from London to Bath. It boasts the 2nd widest high road in Britain, after Stockton-on-Tees. The town gets on the River Kennet, 24 miles (39 kilometres) north of Salisbury and 10 miles (16 kilometres) south-southeast of Swindon. Marlborough has an oceanic environment somewhat affected by its inland setting as well as at 124 metres' elevation is more susceptible to frost than southerly coastal locations. In 2004 Marlborough commemorated 800 years of its Town Charter. Among the parties were a street play by the Marlborough Players labelled Wheels of Time, as well as a visit from HRH Prince Charles.
