Caersws
Caersws is a village as well as community on the River Severn, in the Welsh area of Powys (Montgomeryshire) 5 miles (8 kilometres) west of Newtown, as well as halfway in between Aberystwyth and also Shrewsbury. It has a station on the Cambrian Line from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury. At the 2001 census it had a population of 1,526, increasing a little to 1,586 at the 2011 Census. In modern Welsh, Caersws literally means "Fort Kiss", although sws likely stems from some other source. It has been argued that the site might retain a Roman-era dedication to Zeus or protect the name of a conjectured British queen Swswen.
