Caersws
Caersws is a village as well as community on the River Severn, in the Welsh area of Powys (Montgomeryshire) 5 miles (8 kilometres) west of Newtown, and also midway in between Aberystwyth and also Shrewsbury. It has a station on the Cambrian Line from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury. At the 2001 census it had a population of 1,526, boosting somewhat to 1,586 at the 2011 Demographics. In modern Welsh, Caersws actually suggests "Ft Kiss", although sws likely originates from some other source. It has been suggested that the site may keep a Roman-era dedication to Zeus or protect the name of a conjectured British queen Swswen.
