Torrington
Great Torrington (frequently shortened to Torrington, though the towns of Little Torrington and also Black Torrington are situated in the very same region) is a little market community in the north of Devon, England. Parts of it are sited above ground with steep drops down to the River Torridge listed below, with the lower-lying parts of the community susceptible to periodic flooding. Torrington is in the centre of Tarka Nation, a landscape captured by Henry Williamson in his novel Tarka the Otter in 1927. Great Torrington has one of the most active volunteering areas in the UK. In July 2019, Great Torrington was reported to be the healthiest location to stay in Britain. Scientists from the College of Liverpool discovered that the location had reduced degrees of contamination, great accessibility to green area as well as health services, together with couple of retail outlets.
