North Berwick
North Berwick is a seaside town and former royal burgh in East Lothian, Scotland. It is positioned on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, around 20 miles (32 km) east-northeast of Edinburgh. North Berwick ended up being a classy holiday resort in the 19th century because of its 2 sandy bays, the East (or Milsey) Bay and the West Bay, as well as continues to bring in holidaymakers. Golf links at the ends of each bay are open to visitors. The size as well as population of the town stayed rather stable till the 1970s, at which point housebuilding started in earnest around the perimeter of the town, first to the south (1950s-- 70s), then a series of major developments to the west (1980s-present) along the line of the train. There is talk of further growths focussing on "inexpensive real estate" on the south side of the town. While the population may not have absolutely "took off", residence prices have. North Berwick regularly shows up on top of national house rate surveys, and like-for-like rates are comparable to Edinburgh. North Berwick was listed as one of the most pricey seaside community in Scotland in 2006, as well as was second to St. Andrews in 2009.
