The heating system is among the most important parts of your property. Your central heating boiler gives you heat and hot water throughout the year and the odds are you take little notice of it. Why would you if it's rolling out heat through the year without having a problem?
But wait, how costly are your energy expenses? Are you aware that swapping your central heating boiler could save you over £300 annually on bills because of the improved efficiency? If your central heating boiler is over 10-years old, then the odds are there's a large saving to be made.
Nonetheless, investing in a brand new boiler isn't the most affordable of household improvements. It's not the most expensive either, and you could be looking at between £1,500 and £2,000 for a very efficient combination central heating boiler.
To help combat this initial price you may contemplate central heating boiler finance. With finance you'll pay back a regular monthly fee for however long you choose to cover the cost of the central heating boiler. This could be as few as twelve months and definitely helps those who can't pay the total one-off payment.
In case your boiler stops working unexpectedly too, you might think about boiler finance with no money easily available in the bank. Boiler finance is perfect and even though there is a small interest charge, it's a practical alternative.
The average cost of replacing your gas boiler is £2,500. Costs differ based on the type and brand of boiler you choose as well as the provider you decide to go with. For example, a small local business may be able to offer a better price than a large national tradesman as they will have fewer overheads. Itâs best to get a range of quotes from different boiler engineers so you can compare prices, reviews and references before going ahead.

Great Dunmow is a historic market town and also civil parish in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England. It is located on the north of the A120 road, about midway in between Bishop's Stortford as well as Braintree, 6 miles east of London Stansted Airport. Originally the site of a Roman negotiation on Stane Street, the community grew during the Middle Ages. Numerous structures make it through from this period, including a sixteenth-century city center. Dunmow indicates "Meadow on the Hill". [4] The negotiation was variously described as Dunmow Magna, Much Dunmow, or the majority of commonly Great Dunmow. Great Dunmow surrounds the previous estate of Easton Lodge in the adjoining parish of Little Easton, a lodge coming from the Maynard family. One of the most remarkable participant, Frances Maynard, came to be the Countess of Warwick and later on a girlfriend of King Edward VII. As the Prince of Wales he was supposedly a normal site visitor to the Estate, travelling from London on the train to Easton Lodge railway station. The initials "CW" show up on a number of Victorian age properties in Great Dunmow. Known as Daisy Greville, Countess of Warwick she was a charitable philanthropist in the local community. As of 2018, Robert Nicholson is Emeritus Mayor of Great Dunmow.

Condensing boilers are the in-thing when it comes to modern heating systems in UK homes and across the globe for a good reason. This is primarily due to the fact that condensing boilers happens to be highly efficient as it enables the fuel you’re burning to heat up your home go a lot further. Having a new high efficiency condensing boiler rather than an old G-rated non condensing boiler will not only enhance your heating controls, but also save you a lot of money annually. In this article, we’re going to take you through the basics of a condensing boiler. Let’s take a closer look!
If you’re interested in getting a greener and more efficient boiler, you simply can’t afford to look beyond a high efficiency condensing boiler. This is purely due to the fact that these condensing boilers happens to make a better use of the heat they’re able to produce from burning fuels like oil or gas ( in other words, they require less heat from the burner, which makes them a lot more efficient).
So how does a condensing boiler work? Unlike a non-condensing heat-nly boiler, some heat will be wasted in form of hot gases which are released from the flue. Meanwhile a condensing boiler captures some of the heat from these gases and puts them to use for heating up water that’s coming back from your central heating system. As a result, it requires just a minimal heat from the burner which make the boiler more efficient.
You should take note that all new modern boilers are condensing boilers. Therefore if you’re planning to replace an old boiler with a new one, you’ll definitely be buying a new condensing boiler and benefit from all the efficiency and savings that comes with it.
If you get the right size boiler for your home and you get it serviced regularly, your boiler could last up to 15 years. It may even last longer than this, but you’ll find that your boiler begins to become less efficient as it gets older. Also, as technology improves, a boiler older than 15 years may not be the most efficient one on the market.
When it comes to gas boilers, this is one of the most frequent questions that always pops up and for a good reason. When you invest a considerable amount of money to acquire and install a gas boiler in your home or property, it’s only reasonable not only to expect the boiler to warm up your home efficiently, but also to do so for a long period of time. If you’ve just bought or about to get a new gas boiler, it’s likely you won’t have to worry about getting a replacement for a lengthy period of time. Several gas boilers will last for anywhere between 10 to 15 years on the average. However in the event whereby you have an existing one that’s fast approaching the end of it’s useful life, then you should know the time go get a new gas boiler is just around the corner, and the earlier you make the purchase, the better (to avoid any surprise breakdowns that’ll leave your home super uncomfortable).
Just like any other home appliance, it’s a fact that an older gas boiler ( especially those that have been installed over a decade ago) are significantly less efficient that the new modern ones. When the older versions were manufactured is a completely different time to now as both technology and climate concerns are wide apart. So when your existing boiler is approaching the end of it’s useful life, it’ll be wise to start saving up to cover the cost of getting a new one. However, if it’s only about 5 years ago your boiler was installed, it’s highly likely to still be very efficient.
A combination boiler, also referred to as a “combi boiler, delivers both domestic hot water and space heating in a single package so as to save space, and in a lot of cases, money. These great features makes the appliance a very popular choice in UK homes and in fact, it represents more than 50 percent of all new boilers fitted in the UK on a yearly basis.
Most modern and high efficiency combi boilers are usually stainless steel condensing boilers which normally features an in-built secondary heat exchanger to deliver domestic hot water to a home or property. What’s more? When it comes to the heating season or the cold months, the combi boiler will operated as required to heat a structure and offer hot water for showers, sinks as well as other hot water appliances around the house. And when it gets to the warm season or summer months, the combi boiler will only work when there’s a need for domestic hot water which also helps you save more money.
Combi boilers are able to provide domestic hot water in such a way that’s energy efficient due to two primary reasons - the combi units possess a very high operating efficiency and also have a low internal water volume. As a result, in during the hot summer when space heating is not required, you’ll only have to pay to heat up the hot water that you really need and not an entire tank.
Combi boilers also have the following benefits:
✓ Lower costs. Due to the combined nature of the boiler and the lack of tank in the roof space, the installation time and costs are at a minimum.
✓ Saves space in your home as it effectively combines a central heating boiler with a water heater into one unit.
