Appleby-in-westmorland
Appleby-in-Westmorland is a market community and civil parish in the Eden area, in the management region of Cumbria, in North West England. The church had a population of 3,048 in 2011. It lies in a loophole of the River Eden in the historical region of Westmorland, of which it was the county town. Its name was merely Appleby till the city government modifications of 1974. When a successor parish was developed from the former district, the council changed its name to tape-record that of the historic area.
