Sanquhar
Sanquhar is a town on the River Nith in Dumfries as well as Galloway, Scotland. It lies north of Thornhill as well as west of Moffat. It is a previous Royal Burgh. Sanquhar is noteworthy for its little post office, developed in 1712 and held to be the oldest working post office worldwide. It was likewise the area where the Covenanters, who opposed episcopalisation of the church, signed the Sanquhar Declaration relinquishing their obligation to the King, an event memorialized by a monolith in the main street.
