Chalfont St Giles
Chalfont St Giles is a village and civil parish within the Chiltern district in south eastern Buckinghamshire, England, on the edge of the Chilterns, 20.9 miles (33.6 kilometres) west-north-west of Charing Cross, central London, as well as near Seer Green, Jordans, Chalfont St Peter, Little Chalfont and also Amersham. Chalfont means chalk spring, in reference to the water carrying capabilities of the regional terrain. The town has a duck pond that is fed by the River Misbourne. In 2009, the village was granted the European Diploma of the Council of Europe in recognition of its initiatives to propagate the idea of European unity.
