Dulverton
Dulverton is a small town and civil parish in the heart of West Somerset, England, near the boundary with Devon. The community has a population of 1,408. The parish consists of the communities of Battleton as well as Ashwick which lies roughly 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north west of Dulverton. To the west of the district exists Ashwick House, integrated in the Edwardian style in 1901. Likewise nearby is the estate of Northmoor, previously a seat of Sir Frederick Wills,1 st Baronet of Northmoor, one of the 4 Wills Baronetcys, and the creators of the Imperial Tobacco Company. In 1929 Sir Frederick's child & successor, Sir Gilbert Wills, second Baronet, was elevated to the peerage as Baron Dulverton, whose major seat was at Batsford Park, near Batsford, Gloucestershire. Dulverton is a popular visitor destination for discovering Exmoor, as well as is home to the Exmoor National Park Authority headquarters. The community pushes the path of the Exe Valley Way and also Land's End Trail.
