Fencing in Whitchurch

Interested in getting fencing installed in Whitchurch? Using the Quotatis service it's possible to check up to four fencing companies in order to get the very best deal available for the work you need.

Fencing is extremely important for all houses whether it's the front or back garden. From maintenance work to a full installation of new fencing, employing a reputable contractor is highly advised to get the best price available.

Fences work as a border to our properties and with an installation you'll add more protection to your property and prevent easy access to the back garden. Back garden fences are typically around 6 feet high, which instantly will make it harder for intruders to gain access.

Decorative fences or wooden picket fencing are often suitable for the front garden, where security isn't as vital. Instead, you're more likely to pick a front garden fence specifically for design and also to add something different.

For whatever kind of fencing you're wanting to have installed, ensure that you use our totally free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Whitchurch.

Whitchurch

Whitchurch is a town in Hampshire, England. It gets on the River Test, 13 miles (21 kilometres) south of Newbury, Berkshire, 12 miles (19 kilometres) north of Winchester, 8 miles (13 km) east of Andover and 12 miles (19 kilometres) west of Basingstoke. Much of the town is a Sanctuary. Due to the amount of wild animals in as well as near the River Test, its course and financial institutions are marked as Site of Special Scientific Interest. The West of England Main Line connects the community's railway station to London, and also two highways bypass the community (the A34, a major north-- south path, and the A303, a significant east-- west course). The population is 8,962. The community is an expanding neighborhood with a mix of suburbs and some light industry, as well as serves as a tiny commuter community to London (roughly 60 miles to the east) and to a minimal level Basingstoke as well as Andover. Newbury and Winchester, whilst close by, can not be reached by rail without considerable detour (since the closure of Whitchurch Town train station in 1960) and so commuting to these places is mostly by cars and truck. Lynch Hill Park, a small housing development, was made use of in a TV advert for Roysters crisps due to its "common" American appearance. The centre of the town is a roundabout referred to as The Square.

    FAQs

    How to build a fence?

The best way to build a fence depends on what style it is, as different types have different components. However, fencing made up of posts and panels is pretty common. To put this up, you’ll need to start by measuring out and digging holes for your fence posts. Then you’ll need to fit the panels between them and use concrete to secure the posts in the ground.

Fence ownership: who owns that garden fence?

When it comes to fence ownership and responsibility, this is often a subject of dispute between neighbours and understandably so. Owning a fence comes with a number of responsibilities such as arranging and paying for the maintenance and more. Therefore, if you’re not yet sure who owns the garden fence, then you’d probably want to have that sorted to make sure your property stays protected at all times. In this post, we’re going to give you an insight into some of the rules guiding fence ownership in order to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!

There’s no rule of thumb on whether you own the fence on the right hand or the left hand side of your property. Therefore, if you’ve heard any “rules that states otherwise, you can fling that out the window because not everyone will own the left hand side to their fence. The first way to determine who owns the garden fence or which side of the fence you’re responsible for is simply by looking. Although this is not guaranteed or a definite way to determine ownership, it can go a long way to give you a good idea. As you would have expected, fences are most likely built on the land that belongs to the boundary’s owner with the further edge of the fence making the actual boundary. As a result, you can determine a fence ownership simply by identifying where the frames are.

Also, you can determine fence ownership using the title deeds for an official and accurate answer. A copy should be given alongside your paperwork which is received when purchasing your house.

Do I need to dispose of the old fencing myself?

Most responsible contractors will dispose of the old fencing via an approved commercial waste site. Do check that the cost of taking rubbish away is included in the quotes you receive, otherwise you might find you get stung when it comes to paying for the work.

Can I make my neighbour repair their fence?

For a lot of home and property owners in the UK, a common courtesy is being neighbourly and several people find it relatively easy to get along with the folks next door. However, for most individuals, where the major dispute arises most times is due to boundaries which can lead to impasse that may only be resolved through legal action. But since nobody wants that, when boundary issues become more than just passing a comment about the current condition of the fence, you may want to clue yourself up on what to do to get the desired action. If attempts have been made to talk to your neighbour to no avail, there are a couple of things you can consider to make “them next door repair their fence. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight on these things to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!

Firstly, it should be stated that if the fence poses an immediate danger then the usual legalities doesn’t apply. In this scenario, you may need to report to the local council who’ll take the necessary action on your behalf.

    • Offer assistance. Since the cost of repairing a fence isn’t the cheapest thing to do, a lot of people might not be too eager to carry out this project and any friendly suggestion to do so may not be taken kindly. So if you feel that the this may be the issue, you can try offering some assistance to lessen the financial burden on your neighbour.
    • Put up your own fence. If all attempts fail, you can consider erecting your own fence. However, this must be on your own property and as close to the boundary as possible.
