Fencing in Stanford-le-hope

Interested in getting fencing installed in Stanford-le-hope? Using the Quotatis service you can look at as many as 4 fencing installers to get the best deal available for the task you need.

Fencing is important for all households whether it's the front or back garden. From restoration work to a full installation of new fencing, working with a respected company is highly recommended to get the very best price available.

Fencing act as a boundary to our homes and with an installation you'll add more protection to your home and prevent easy access to the back garden. Back garden fences are typically around 6 feet high, which straight away will make it tougher for intruders to gain access.

Decorative fences or wooden picket fencing will often be most appropriate for the front garden, where security isn't as important. Instead, you're more likely to select a front garden fence particularly for decoration and also to add something different.

For whatever type of fencing you're wanting to have installed, make sure you make use of our totally free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Stanford-le-hope.

Stanford-le-hope

Stanford-le-Hope is a community as well as Church of England parish situated in the region of Essex, England. Often known locally simply as Stanford, the town is within the unitary authority of Thurrock and situated 23.8 miles (38.4 km) east of Charing Cross in London. Its major claim to fame is that Joseph Conrad lived as well as wrote there. Unlike some other areas of Thurrock, Stanford-le-Hope is bordered by countryside and also farmland. Stanford-le-Hope is bordered to the north by the A13 road as well as to the south by the Thames Estuary. It lies 12.7 miles (20.5 km) west of Southend-on-Sea. The community centre has a village feel with its 800-year-old church, St Margarets making a famous and also eye-catching landmark around which shops, bars and dining establishments have actually expanded to develop a dynamic core to the town. As Stanford-le-Hope expands in size, it has actually begun to integrate neighbouring settlements such as Corringham, Mucking and Fobbing, the latter of which was the scene of one of the uprisings which brought about the Peasants' Revolt. The River Hope, a tributary of the Thames, goes through the community. Locally there are a number of parks as well as nature gets, notably Thurrock Thameside Nature Reserve, with a site visitor centre offering sights backwards and forwards the Thames throughout both commercial as well as all-natural landscapes including the Mucking Flats SSSI.

    FAQs

    How to build a fence?

The best way to build a fence depends on what style it is, as different types have different components. However, fencing made up of posts and panels is pretty common. To put this up, you’ll need to start by measuring out and digging holes for your fence posts. Then you’ll need to fit the panels between them and use concrete to secure the posts in the ground.

How close can I build to my neighbour’s fence?

As a home or property owner, you’re generally allowed to build next to your neighbour’s fence as long as it’s on your own side of the property. With that in mind, there are certain laws that regulate how close a fence can be built to buildings on the same lot or neighbouring lots. In addition, there are also local bylaws that provide limitations on the placements as well as height of fences so as to address safety hazards. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into how close you can build to your neighbour. Let’s take a look!

In general, if the fence is in your boundary then you’re allowed to build a 2-metre high brick or wooden fence or wall. However, this may differ depending on your location in the UK. As a result, you may want to reach out to your municipality’s building department in order to determine what these rules and limitations are in your area. In the events whereby there are no such restrictions but you’re still concerned, you can try informing your neighbour what your concerns are. However, if they’re not receptive there are some steps you can take to ensure your plans go as smoothly as possible. These steps include the following:

    • Ensure to leave sufficient space for both the posts and footings
    • Stagger your fence posts in order to make sure you’re not digging your neighbour’s
    • Consider using concrete posts as they’re much stronger and will last a lot longer
    • Use kickers or plinths for raised gardens and flower beds
    • Make use of concrete plinths as they won’t rot over time like a wooden fence.
Do I need to tell my neighbours if I’m going to replace my fence?

It’s a good idea to talk to your neighbours before you start any work to avoid confusion along the way. But if the fence is definitely your responsibility and on your property, there’s no legal obligation to notify them. It’s also a myth that you need to erect a fence with the flush side without posts facing your neighbour’s property.

How do I find out who owns a fence?

Speaking to the owners of the neighbouring properties is recommended. If you are still unsure, you may need to check the original deeds to the property. Generally the rule is that you are responsible for the fence at the right hand side of your property.
