Fencing in Longhope

Seeking out wooden fencing fitters in Longhope? Our wooden fencing contractors in Longhope will be able to provide you with the ideal quotations to have wood fencing installed.

Fencing is needed both for home and industrial buildings for a variety of reasons. It works as a boundary for back gardens and private land, acting as a measure of privacy as well as to keep people and animals in or out.

Features of wood fencing include additional home security and visual appeal. With a fence in place, it will become much harder for burglars to get into your household and garden. Make certain to choose a design that will look fantastic too, particularly if for property reasons.

We're able to give you up to 4 wooden fencing fitters locally, who will offer quotations for the work you'd like done. You'll receive a household visit from professionals in Longhope who'll help you to choose the right design and style for your home prior to carrying out the installation.

The fitting of a wooden fence will take less than one day to complete, dependant upon the size of area you'd like covered.

    FAQs

How to tell which fence is yours?

If there’s a fence dividing yours and your neighbour’s properties that needs maintaining or replacing, you’ll want to know who owns it. Start by checking your deeds to see if there’s an existing boundary agreement. If there isn’t, have a chat with them to see if you can come to an arrangement yourselves.

What is the cheapest fence to install?

The cheapest fence to install is, generally, a pressure-treated pine wooden fence at around £20 per linear foot. This includes the materials and labour costs. Wire fencing is technically cheaper at around £5 per foot, but it’s not a great material to use in homes as it looks unsightly and doesn’t provide any privacy.

Can I make my neighbour repair their fence?

For a lot of home and property owners in the UK, a common courtesy is being neighbourly and several people find it relatively easy to get along with the folks next door. However, for most individuals, where the major dispute arises most times is due to boundaries which can lead to impasse that may only be resolved through legal action. But since nobody wants that, when boundary issues become more than just passing a comment about the current condition of the fence, you may want to clue yourself up on what to do to get the desired action. If attempts have been made to talk to your neighbour to no avail, there are a couple of things you can consider to make “them next door repair their fence. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight on these things to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!

Firstly, it should be stated that if the fence poses an immediate danger then the usual legalities doesn’t apply. In this scenario, you may need to report to the local council who’ll take the necessary action on your behalf.

    • Offer assistance. Since the cost of repairing a fence isn’t the cheapest thing to do, a lot of people might not be too eager to carry out this project and any friendly suggestion to do so may not be taken kindly. So if you feel that the this may be the issue, you can try offering some assistance to lessen the financial burden on your neighbour.
    • Put up your own fence. If all attempts fail, you can consider erecting your own fence. However, this must be on your own property and as close to the boundary as possible.
How do I find out who owns a fence?

Speaking to the owners of the neighbouring properties is recommended. If you are still unsure, you may need to check the original deeds to the property. Generally the rule is that you are responsible for the fence at the right hand side of your property.
