Fencing is necessary both for home and commercial properties for many different reasons. It provides a border for back gardens and private land, acting as a measure of privacy as well as to keep people and animals in or out.
Benefits of wood fencing include extra household security and aesthetic appeal. With a fence in position, it will become much harder for burglars to gain access to your home and garden. Be certain to select a design that will look great as well, particularly if for household reasons.
We're able to supply you with around 4 wood fencing fitters in the area, who will supply quotes for the work you wish done. You'll get a home visit from specialists in Largs who will help you decide on the right design and style for your property before completing the installation.
The fitting of a wooden fence takes less than one day to carry out, depending on the size of area you'd like secured.
The regular cost of a new or replacement fence is approximately £20-£45 per foot, not including removing your existing fence which could cost an extra £5-10 per foot. The labour costs depend on the length and height of your fence, the number of posts and the material used. It will also differ among regions, so it's best to get a few quotes to see what the best price is in your area.

Largs is a town on the Firth of Clyde in North Ayrshire in Scotland. It is found approximately 33 miles (53 kilometres) from Glasgow. The original name means "the slopes" (An Leargaidh) in Scottish Gaelic. The town markets itself on its cultural connections with the Vikings and an annual festival is held in early September. In accordance with the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of around 11241. Largs developed from the estates of North Cunninghame over which the Montgomeries of Skelmorlie came to be temporal lords in the 17th century. Sir Robert Montgomerie built Skelmorlie Aisle in the ancient kirk of Largs in 1636 as a family mausoleum. Today, the monolith is all that stays of the old kirk. From its roots as a modest village around its kirk, Largs turned into a busy and popular seaside resort in the 19th century. Sizeable hotels were constructed and the pier was finished in 1834. It was not until 1895, however, that the train made the link to Largs, which consolidated the town's attraction. It also ended up being a highly regarded area to live, and numerous spectacular mansions were constructed. The most significant of which includes 'Netherhall', the residence of William Thomson, Lord Kelvin, the physicist and engineer. Regardless of its reduced status as a vacation resort, much of Largs is still focused towards tourism. There is the award winning Vikingar Centre at Barrfields, an interactive glance into the history of Viking life; Kelburn Country Centre, Barrfields Pavilion Theatre, Largs Swimming Pool, Douglas Park and Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre. It is best known for 'Nardinis', the famed ice cream parlour, cafe and restaurant, that dominates the Esplanade and which reopened in late 2008. For all of your home remodelings, be sure to find dependable contractors in Largs to make certain of quality.

As a home or property owner, you’re generally allowed to build next to your neighbour’s fence as long as it’s on your own side of the property. With that in mind, there are certain laws that regulate how close a fence can be built to buildings on the same lot or neighbouring lots. In addition, there are also local bylaws that provide limitations on the placements as well as height of fences so as to address safety hazards. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into how close you can build to your neighbour. Let’s take a look!
In general, if the fence is in your boundary then you’re allowed to build a 2-metre high brick or wooden fence or wall. However, this may differ depending on your location in the UK. As a result, you may want to reach out to your municipality’s building department in order to determine what these rules and limitations are in your area. In the events whereby there are no such restrictions but you’re still concerned, you can try informing your neighbour what your concerns are. However, if they’re not receptive there are some steps you can take to ensure your plans go as smoothly as possible. These steps include the following:
Properly erected fences shouldn’t require a great deal of maintenance. Any rotting boards can usually be replaced without replacing the whole panel. Timber fencing should be stained every 2-3 years. General maintenance is something you can carry out yourself, however, larger works may need a qualified professional to come in.
Most responsible contractors will dispose of the old fencing via an approved commercial waste site. Do check that the cost of taking rubbish away is included in the quotes you receive, otherwise you might find you get stung when it comes to paying for the work.
Not if they are under 1 metre high if next to a road or 2 metres high elsewhere. It’s always recommended to check with your neighbours and the local authority if you are unsure. Other restrictions may apply, for example if a fence might impact driver visibility on nearby roads.
We can help you get more wooden fencing work with our qualified job leads and boost your business.
