Are you considering getting fencing installed in Hexham? With the Quotatis service you can contrast as many as four fencing installers to get the best deal available for the task you want.
Fencing is extremely important for all houses no matter whether it's the front or back garden. From restoration work to a full installation of new fencing, employing a reliable contractor is highly encouraged to get the best price available.
Fencing act as a boundary to our properties and with an installation you'll add security to your house and stop easy access to your back garden. Back garden fences are traditionally close to 6 feet high, which instantly makes it more difficult for intruders to gain access.
Decorative fencing or wooden picket fencing will often be most suited for the front garden, where security isn't as paramount. Instead, you're more likely to select a front garden fence particularly for design and also to add something different.
For whatever type of fencing you're wanting to have installed, be sure to use our totally free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Hexham.
The regular cost of a new or replacement fence is approximately £20-£45 per foot, not including removing your existing fence which could cost an extra £5-10 per foot. The labour costs depend on the length and height of your fence, the number of posts and the material used. It will also differ among regions, so it's best to get a few quotes to see what the best price is in your area.

Hexham is a market town and civil parish in the English county of Northumberland. It lies south of the River Tyne, and was the administrative centre for the Tynedale area from 1974 to 2009. Smaller towns and villages surrounding Hexham feature Corbridge, Riding Mill, Stocksfield and Wylam to the east, Acomb and Bellingham towards the north, Allendale towards the south and Haydon Bridge, Bardon Mill and Haltwhistle to the west. Newcastle upon Tyne is approximately 25 miles (40 km) towards the east. With reference to the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of approximately 11829. Hexham's architectural landscape is headed by Hexham Abbey. The present church predominantly dates from around 1170, built in the Early English Gothic style of architecture. The choir, north and south transepts and the cloisters, where canons studied and meditated, date from this period. The east end was reconstructioned in 1860. The abbey stands at the west end of the market place, which is home to the Shambles, a Grade II covered market established in 1766 by Sir Walter Blackett. At the east end of the market place is the Moot Hall, a 15th-century gatehouse that pertained to the town's defences. The Moot Hall is a Grade I listed structure, and was put to use as a courthouse until 1838. The Moot Hall now houses the Council offices of the Museums Department and the ground floor is an art gallery open to hire. Hexham won the Town award in the 2005 Britain in Bloom awards. In the same year Hexham was additionally called 'England's Favourite Market Town' by the publication 'Country Life'. It’s a good idea to talk to your neighbours before you start any work to avoid confusion along the way. But if the fence is definitely your responsibility and on your property, there’s no legal obligation to notify them. It’s also a myth that you need to erect a fence with the flush side without posts facing your neighbour’s property.
The cheapest fence to install is, generally, a pressure-treated pine wooden fence at around £20 per linear foot. This includes the materials and labour costs. Wire fencing is technically cheaper at around £5 per foot, but it’s not a great material to use in homes as it looks unsightly and doesn’t provide any privacy.
For a lot of home and property owners in the UK, a common courtesy is being neighbourly and several people find it relatively easy to get along with the folks next door. However, for most individuals, where the major dispute arises most times is due to boundaries which can lead to impasse that may only be resolved through legal action. But since nobody wants that, when boundary issues become more than just passing a comment about the current condition of the fence, you may want to clue yourself up on what to do to get the desired action. If attempts have been made to talk to your neighbour to no avail, there are a couple of things you can consider to make “them next door repair their fence. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight on these things to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!
Firstly, it should be stated that if the fence poses an immediate danger then the usual legalities doesn’t apply. In this scenario, you may need to report to the local council who’ll take the necessary action on your behalf.
There are quite a few different types of garden fencing that are readily available, so you’ll have plenty to choose from. If you’ve got a strict budget, waney edge panel fencing is a good option. It’s made up of horizontal wood strips and is generally the cheapest type of fencing. Another good option is closed feather-edge panels. These are a really strong type of fence, made up of concrete posts and panels of vertical strips of wood. You can also get more decorative types of fencing with combinations of vertical and horizontal wood strips.
