Fencing is very important for all homes whether it is the front or back garden. From maintenance work to a complete installation of new fencing, employing a trustworthy contractor is highly recommended to get the very best price available.
Fences work as a boundary to our homes and with an installation you'll add more protection to your home and prevent easy access to the back garden. Back garden fences are typically around 6 feet high, which straight away makes it harder for intruders to gain access.
Decorative fences or wooden picket fencing are usually best suited for the front garden, where security isn't as vital. Instead, you're more likely to opt for a front garden fence specifically for decoration and also to add something different.
For whatever kind of fencing you're wanting to have installed, ensure that you make use of our totally free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Ferryhill.
The regular cost of a new or replacement fence is approximately £20-£45 per foot, not including removing your existing fence which could cost an extra £5-10 per foot. The labour costs depend on the length and height of your fence, the number of posts and the material used. It will also differ among regions, so it's best to get a few quotes to see what the best price is in your area.

Ferryhill is a town in south-central County Durham, England. With a permanent population of around 9940, as documented in the 2011 census, it is the 8th most populous town in the county. Ferryhill is situated on the western side of the Ferryhill Gap, a natural gateway in the Limestone Escarpment that outcrops on the Eastern Durham Plateau. The primary settlement is located along the southwest-northeast ridge, with later development to the south of the ridge. The town grew rather quickly in the 1900s as a result of the growing coal mining sector throughout the Industrial Revolution. The last mine closed in 1968 after the drop-off of the staple industries in the post-war period. Ferryhill holds a weekly Friday market in the Town Centre marketplace run by the Local Council Ferryhill Town Council. There have been numerous development programmes in the town, including the award-winning Mainsforth Sports complex, Surtees Doorstep Green, and a youth coffeehouse for the town's young people. There are plenty of opportunities for residents to partake in social, cultural and community events. This includes an annual summertime gala, a Christmas market, the parading of miners' banners, a vintage vehicle rally, art and photography exhibits and a lot more. These are all planned jointly by the Town Council and the 2000 Committee. A section of Dean Bank Park has been used to enhance and increase the sporting facilities available in the town, and the remainder have recently been the subject of assessment by the Town Council, with plans for a play area being made. For all of your home upgrades, make certain to make use of reputable experts in Ferryhill to make certain of quality.

It’s a good idea to talk to your neighbours before you start any work to avoid confusion along the way. But if the fence is definitely your responsibility and on your property, there’s no legal obligation to notify them. It’s also a myth that you need to erect a fence with the flush side without posts facing your neighbour’s property.
Most responsible contractors will dispose of the old fencing via an approved commercial waste site. Do check that the cost of taking rubbish away is included in the quotes you receive, otherwise you might find you get stung when it comes to paying for the work.
Speaking to the owners of the neighbouring properties is recommended. If you are still unsure, you may need to check the original deeds to the property. Generally the rule is that you are responsible for the fence at the right hand side of your property.
As a home or property owner, you’re generally allowed to build next to your neighbour’s fence as long as it’s on your own side of the property. With that in mind, there are certain laws that regulate how close a fence can be built to buildings on the same lot or neighbouring lots. In addition, there are also local bylaws that provide limitations on the placements as well as height of fences so as to address safety hazards. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into how close you can build to your neighbour. Let’s take a look!
In general, if the fence is in your boundary then you’re allowed to build a 2-metre high brick or wooden fence or wall. However, this may differ depending on your location in the UK. As a result, you may want to reach out to your municipality’s building department in order to determine what these rules and limitations are in your area. In the events whereby there are no such restrictions but you’re still concerned, you can try informing your neighbour what your concerns are. However, if they’re not receptive there are some steps you can take to ensure your plans go as smoothly as possible. These steps include the following:
