Appleby-in-Westmorland is a market town as well as civil parish in the Eden area, in the administrative area of Cumbria, in North West England. The church had a population of 3,048 in 2011. It depends on a loophole of the River Eden in the historical area of Westmorland, of which it was the county town. Its name was simply Appleby till the city government changes of 1974. When a follower church was developed from the former borough, the council changed its name to tape that of the historical area. Appleby is 13.7 mi (22 kilometres) south east of Penrith, 32.2 mi (52 km) south eastern of Carlisle, 27.2 mi (44 km) north eastern of Kendal, 45.2 mi (73 km) west of Darlington, and also 61.2 mi (98 kilometres) west of Middlesbrough. Appleby is ignored by the privately possessed Appleby Castle, a mostly Norman framework that acted as residence for Woman Anne Clifford in the 17th century. Appleby's primary market is tourism, as a result of its history, remote location, surroundings and nearness to the Lake District, the North Pennines, Swaledale as well as Howgill Fells. From 1973, Appleby Castle was the headquarters of Ferguson Industrial Holdings Plc. WA Developments Limited, currently Stobart Rail Limited, was long based in Appleby as a civil design business started by Andrew Tinkler and William Stobart as well as specialising in railway upkeep.

Speaking to the owners of the neighbouring properties is recommended. If you are still unsure, you may need to check the original deeds to the property. Generally the rule is that you are responsible for the fence at the right hand side of your property.
There are a number of reasons why disputes can arise between neighbours – all of which can be quite frustrating and challenging. In some cases, this can even cause serious friction and lead to an all-out war. When it comes to the topic of fencing, one of the most common questions that arises is whether or not you can attach something to your neighbour’s fence. If you’re having the same concern, then you’ve come to the right place. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into this to help you make informed decisions moving forward. Let’s take a look!
The short and simple answer to this question is no, you can’t attach anything to your neighbour’s fence. If your neighbour owns the fence and you’ve not obtained any permission to do so, then you’re not allowed to attach anything to the fence. Otherwise, you can get into serious trouble with your neighbour as well as the law. If you want to attach something or have the wall on your side painted using another colour, then there’s the need to get a permission from the owner. And while doing so, make sure you’re provided with a written permission so as to avoid problems later in the future.
Another question that mostly arises is what if your neighbour declines your request, is there anything you can do about it? Well, the answer to this is no, there’s nothing you can do about it unless you’re able to convince your neighbour otherwise. And you should know starting a neighbour war or being spiteful can only make matters worse for you.
When it comes to fence ownership and responsibility, this is often a subject of dispute between neighbours and understandably so. Owning a fence comes with a number of responsibilities such as arranging and paying for the maintenance and more. Therefore, if you’re not yet sure who owns the garden fence, then you’d probably want to have that sorted to make sure your property stays protected at all times. In this post, we’re going to give you an insight into some of the rules guiding fence ownership in order to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!
There’s no rule of thumb on whether you own the fence on the right hand or the left hand side of your property. Therefore, if you’ve heard any “rules that states otherwise, you can fling that out the window because not everyone will own the left hand side to their fence. The first way to determine who owns the garden fence or which side of the fence you’re responsible for is simply by looking. Although this is not guaranteed or a definite way to determine ownership, it can go a long way to give you a good idea. As you would have expected, fences are most likely built on the land that belongs to the boundary’s owner with the further edge of the fence making the actual boundary. As a result, you can determine a fence ownership simply by identifying where the frames are.
Also, you can determine fence ownership using the title deeds for an official and accurate answer. A copy should be given alongside your paperwork which is received when purchasing your house.
If there’s a fence dividing yours and your neighbour’s properties that needs maintaining or replacing, you’ll want to know who owns it. Start by checking your deeds to see if there’s an existing boundary agreement. If there isn’t, have a chat with them to see if you can come to an arrangement yourselves.
