Fencing in Aboyne

Are you considering having fencing installed in Aboyne? By using the Quotatis service you're able to assess as many as 4 fencing installers in order to get the top deal available for the work you want.

Fencing is extremely important for all houses whether it's the front or back garden. From repair work to a total installation of new fencing, working with a respected contractor is highly recommended to get the best price available.

Fencing work as a border to our properties and with an installation you'll add security to your home and stop easy access to the back garden. Back garden fences are usually close to six feet high, which right away will make it more difficult for intruders to gain entry.

Decorative fencing or wooden picket fencing will often be suitable for the front garden, where security isn't as important. Instead, you're more likely to opt for a front garden fence particularly for decoration in order to add something different.

For whatever sort of fencing you're looking to have installed, make sure to make use of our totally free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Aboyne.

Average Wooden fencing cost in Aboyne

The regular cost of a new or replacement fence is approximately £20-£45 per foot, not including removing your existing fence which could cost an extra £5-10 per foot. The labour costs depend on the length and height of your fence, the number of posts and the material used. It will also differ among regions, so it's best to get a few quotes to see what the best price is in your area.

Aboyne

Aboyne is a village on the edge of the Highlands in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on the River Dee, around 26 miles (42 km) west of Aberdeen. It has a pool at Aboyne Academy, all-weather tennis courts, a bowling green and is residence to the oldest 18 opening Golf course on Royal Deeside. Aboyne Castle as well as the Loch of Aboyne are nearby. Aboyne has lots of services, consisting of a supermarket (Co-op), one financial institution, numerous hair stylists, a butcher, a newsagent, an Indian restaurant and a post office. Originally, there was a railway station in the town, but it was closed on 18 June 1966. The terminal currently has some stores and also the passage running under the town is now home to a firearms club. The market-day in Aboyne was called Fèill Mhìcheil (Scottish Gaelic for "Michael's Fair").

    FAQs

What types of garden fencing are available?

There are quite a few different types of garden fencing that are readily available, so you’ll have plenty to choose from. If you’ve got a strict budget, waney edge panel fencing is a good option. It’s made up of horizontal wood strips and is generally the cheapest type of fencing. Another good option is closed feather-edge panels. These are a really strong type of fence, made up of concrete posts and panels of vertical strips of wood. You can also get more decorative types of fencing with combinations of vertical and horizontal wood strips.

Do I need to dispose of the old fencing myself?

Most responsible contractors will dispose of the old fencing via an approved commercial waste site. Do check that the cost of taking rubbish away is included in the quotes you receive, otherwise you might find you get stung when it comes to paying for the work.

How close can I build to my neighbour’s fence?

As a home or property owner, you’re generally allowed to build next to your neighbour’s fence as long as it’s on your own side of the property. With that in mind, there are certain laws that regulate how close a fence can be built to buildings on the same lot or neighbouring lots. In addition, there are also local bylaws that provide limitations on the placements as well as height of fences so as to address safety hazards. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into how close you can build to your neighbour. Let’s take a look!

In general, if the fence is in your boundary then you’re allowed to build a 2-metre high brick or wooden fence or wall. However, this may differ depending on your location in the UK. As a result, you may want to reach out to your municipality’s building department in order to determine what these rules and limitations are in your area. In the events whereby there are no such restrictions but you’re still concerned, you can try informing your neighbour what your concerns are. However, if they’re not receptive there are some steps you can take to ensure your plans go as smoothly as possible. These steps include the following:

    • Ensure to leave sufficient space for both the posts and footings
    • Stagger your fence posts in order to make sure you’re not digging your neighbour’s
    • Consider using concrete posts as they’re much stronger and will last a lot longer
    • Use kickers or plinths for raised gardens and flower beds
    • Make use of concrete plinths as they won’t rot over time like a wooden fence.
Can I attach something to my neighbour’s fence?

There are a number of reasons why disputes can arise between neighbours – all of which can be quite frustrating and challenging. In some cases, this can even cause serious friction and lead to an all-out war. When it comes to the topic of fencing, one of the most common questions that arises is whether or not you can attach something to your neighbour’s fence. If you’re having the same concern, then you’ve come to the right place. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into this to help you make informed decisions moving forward. Let’s take a look!

The short and simple answer to this question is no, you can’t attach anything to your neighbour’s fence. If your neighbour owns the fence and you’ve not obtained any permission to do so, then you’re not allowed to attach anything to the fence. Otherwise, you can get into serious trouble with your neighbour as well as the law. If you want to attach something or have the wall on your side painted using another colour, then there’s the need to get a permission from the owner. And while doing so, make sure you’re provided with a written permission so as to avoid problems later in the future.

Another question that mostly arises is what if your neighbour declines your request, is there anything you can do about it? Well, the answer to this is no, there’s nothing you can do about it unless you’re able to convince your neighbour otherwise. And you should know starting a neighbour war or being spiteful can only make matters worse for you.
