Fleetwood
Fleetwood is a town within the Wyre area of Lancashire, England, laying on the northwest area of the Fylde. It possessed a population of 26,840 people at the 2001 Census. It forms an area of the Greater Blackpool conurbation. The town was the first planned community of the age. For almost all of the last century, Fleetwood was a prominent deep-sea fishing port, however, since the 1970s, the fishing sector has declined precipitously and the town has been subject to economic difficulties. Fleetwood is also a beachfront holiday resort, being a peaceful contrast to nearby Blackpool.
