Chalfont St Giles
Chalfont St Giles is a town and also civil parish within the Chiltern area in south eastern Buckinghamshire, England, on the edge of the Chilterns, 20.9 miles (33.6 km) west-north-west of Charing Cross, central London, and near Seer Green, Jordans, Chalfont St Peter, Little Chalfont as well as Amersham. Chalfont indicates chalk springtime, in reference to the water carrying capacities of the neighborhood terrain. The town has a pond that is fed by the River Misbourne. In 2009, the town was awarded the European Diploma of the Council of Europe in recognition of its initiatives to circulate the suggestion of European unity.
