Brockenhurst
Brockenhurst is the biggest town by population within the New Forest in Hampshire, England. The nearby city is Southampton some 13 miles (21 km) to the North East, while Bournemouth is also close by, 15 miles (24 kilometres) South West. Surrounding communities and also villages include Beaulieu, Lymington, Lyndhurst, as well as Persuade. The western part of the village greatly increased in the 1970s and, in the very early 1990s, Berkeley Homes developed Ober Park, which is currently referred to as The Coppice, this in spite of having been known as Staffs (or variants thereof) from the 13th to 19th centuries. Extra building and construction of the town still continues today by Pennyfarthing Homes. Brockenhurst is twinned with Pont St Martin, in Loire-Atlantique, France as well as has a population of 3,552 individuals (at 2011).
