Alton is a market town and civil parish inside the East Hampshire district in the English county of Hampshire. It is located across a valley on the source of the River Wey. The town is positioned 9 miles from Farnham and 16 miles from Winchester, with London about 52 miles away. Brockham Hill is the highest point of Alton, at 225 metres above sea level.
