Bamburgh
Bamburgh is a village and also civil parish on the shore of Northumberland, England. It had a population of 454 in 2001, decreasing to 414 at the 2011 census. The village is notable for the close-by Bamburgh Castle, a castle which was the seat of the former Kings of Northumbria, and for its association with the Victorian period heroine Elegance Darling, who is hidden there. The extensive beach by the town was awarded heaven Flag rural coastline honor in 2005. The Bamburgh Dunes, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, support the beach. Bamburgh is prominent with holidaymakers and also is within the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A selecting ward of the very same name exists.
