Boncath

Boncath is a village, community and postal district in north Pembrokeshire, Wales. It's located about 5 miles (8 kilometres) west of Newcastle Emlyn. The village is positioned at a crossroad joining the nearby settlements of Newchapel (Capelnewydd), Eglwyswrw, Blaenffos and Bwlchygroes. Formerly a hamlet formed around an inn, the village developed after the creation of the railway in 1885. Boncath railway station, opened its doors in September 1886, was a two-platform stop between Crymmych Arms and Kilgerran Halt on the Whitland and Cardigan Railway, referred to as 'Cardi Bach'. The line was shut as a result of the 1963 Beeching Axe and the station building was altered into private property. The village once included three tailors, a cobbler plus a dressmaker, and in 2000 a brand new Community Hall was created. Cilwendeg House, described as one of the most important mansions in Pembrokeshire, dates from the late 18th century and was built on the site of a former property which dates back to the 1600s. One of several attributes of the property is the Grade 2 listed Shell House, constructed in the late 1820s. The 21 bedroom mansion was a care home from 1952 to 2010. Now, the village features a population of about 700 individuals. The town is served by a regular bus service. The Boncath Inn is found in the centre of the village in addition to a village shop and Post Office, as well as a number of smaller companies. The Welsh Independent Chapel at Fachendre (Fach-hendre), established in 1879, can be found south east of the village and is a listed building. The Community Hall, a registered charity, offers a venue that can be used for events in the local area. Cilwendeg hosted the 2013 Urdd Eisteddfod. For all your house improvements, make certain that you work with trusted pros in Boncath to ensure that you get the best quality service.

FAQs

how to spray uPVC windows?

Over the years, UPVC spray painting has grown to become a standard practice. Previously, what was done when people wanted to change the colour of their UPVC window is simply to replace the old ones. However compared to the cost of replacing the units, it’s actually a lot easier to simply have your UPVC windows sprayed and even more importantly, at just a fraction of the replacement cost. If you’re thinking about spraying your upvc windows, then you’ve come to the right place! In this post, we’re going to take you through the entire process. However, if you lack the confidence needed to pull this off, we’d strong advise that you get in touch with a professional to avoid make costly errors or mistakes.

The first step to successful upvc window spraying is always to make sure that the upvc is properly cleaned by removing any loose dirt and residue, getting rid of any muck and grime which has developed over the years. You can also abrade the surface in a very light manner to leave upvc frames with a key to make the paint adhesions stronger. Once you’re done with the preparation, the obvious next step is masking off. This process requires you to protect the walls, glass, floors and brickwork from any potential over spray. To achieve this, you can make use of masking papers.

Upon completion of the masking off process, then its time to spray paint the upvc windows using a spray gun and spray painter. This requires a lot of practice as it could be very dangerous as you can inject yourself with paint, which can be seriously fatal.

can i spray paint my garage door?

The quick and simple answer to this question is yes, you can definitely spray paint your garage door - be it timber, metal, composite or upvc. However, the major concern of most home or property owners about a painted finish is whether it’ll become vulnerable to wear and tear or resist it. Will the paint easily peel off at the slightest provocation or will it stand up to abrasion? The questions goes on and on. The answer to the questions showing concerns about the longevity of a painted finish depends largely on the quality of the application.

For a successful and effective spray painting project, there’s the need to prepare the surface. There some materials that’ll require priming, be it a special primer or a thinned version of the paint. There are also some surfaces that’ll need some light sanding. Overall, the primary aim of preparation is to provide a clean and ideal surface for the paint to bond to. This is the most important factor that determines whether the finish is going to last or not.

Painting your garage door can either be done as a DIY task or you can probably hire the services of a professional. To paint the garage door yourself, you can’t buy the same equipment as a professional firm, but you can as well use a brush. This option will leave brush marks especially on metal and upvc garage doors which makes it not so appropriate if you want to have a smooth and even finish. Professional companies are highly recommended for this type of project as they possess the experience and knowledge and skills required to deliver a top quality job that’ll help obliterate all concerns you might have about its longevity.

how much does uPVC spraying cost?

If you’re thinking about spraying your upvc, then one of the first things that naturally comes to mind is the price of completing such a task. If you’re also interested in determining the price, then you’ve come to the right place! In this post, we’re going to take a look at the total cost involved in UPVC spraying.

First and foremost, it must be stated that UPVC spraying is an industry that’s highly competitive. And as you would have guessed the prices are largely influenced the experience and reputation of the company you opt for. In other words, the new entrant companies are usually the cheapest but their works are not particularly the best. Therefore, for a high quality job, it’s always recommended to make use of a well established and highly reputable company in the industry.

If you’re going to hire a vastly experienced and reputable firm in the industry, then you should budget about circa £140 to £160 per window, circa £210 to £250 per door and frame, circa £260 to £300 for a large garage door and circa £600 to £800 for a three bed semi detached house.

These prices include materials, labour as well as other related costs. However, you should note that they’re only estimated prices and you’ll have to call in a professional in order to get a more accurate quote. If you’re looking to paint all the UPVC in your home, there are usually discounts that will be provided based on the work load. What’s more? If there’s a need for scaffolding, then there can be a bump up in the price.

can you spray upvc windows a different colour?

The quick and simple answer to this question is yes, you can definitely spray upvc window with a different colour. In fact, this represents a much more cost effective mean of changing the upvc windows colour. Back in the days people used to simply replace their upvc windows, doors, fascias, gutters, garage door conservatories and the likes which is actually a much costlier option.

Generally, upvc window frames are known to have a lengthy lifespan, however the common misconception is that the colour you pick originally and install is the colour you’d have to keep till you have them replaced. Typically, people will have white upvc windows, however in recent times there has been more colours coming on in the market such as anthracite grey, black, brown and many more when it comes to replacing. However, replacing your upvc window frames come with a greater associated expenses, building works, a lot of hassle as well as mess. As a result, there has been a significant increase in the number of people looking for upvc painting and recoloring as this costs a lot less than replacing existing frames up to 80% in several cases. From the savings that’ll be made by spraying and painting upvc window frames, it makes absolutely little sense replacing the frames. Therefore, it’s highly recommended to have your upvc windows sprayed and painted by an experienced professional who can guarantee the best results the first time.
