K4 Architects are a niche company with a range of specialist skills. K4 are considered as leaders in their field, with unparalleled expertise in complex regeneration.
 
From our base in Central Birmingham,  we offer core services of Architecture, Urban Design, Landscape and Project Management along with additional services, including specialist project communications and branding.
 
The practice’s work is recognised for its imagination and innovation with a commercial edge, and always with an eye on delivery.
 
We have developed particular expertise in resolving complex sites and building types, often with challenging physical and legislative constraints to create high value places for people and business. One of our particular strengths is listed buildings, where we are working on projects with Grade I, II and II* buildings, as well as scheduled ancient monuments.
 
Our approach
 
The ethos of the practice is to see things from the client’s perspective and get ‘under the skin’ of what the project needs to deliver. We acknowledge that construction projects are often the biggest single investment that people will ever make, either as individuals or as organisations, so we strive to make that journey easier for our clients, helping them get the best out of their project.
 
We also recognise that our clients need to deliver on their responsibilities, whether to end-users, tenants, purchasers, funding partners or landowners. Unlike many of our competitors, we demonstrate high levels of agility which allows us to respond to constantly changing parameters, eg. incorporating the requirements of prospective tenants on commercial projects (often at short notice) in order to optimise viability and profitability for our clients. Meanwhile, our  internal management systems provide constant refinement through the lifetime of a project to maximise both quality and value for money.
 
The practice
 
K4 Architects were founded in 2010 by Bob Ghosh, which incorporated Kinetic (Architecture, Innovation and Urbanism), which he founded with John Shakeshaft and Michael Young in 2003. Prior to this, Bob Ghosh spent 7 years as a Director of Glenn Howells Architects.
 
Through strong ethics and leadership, K4 have developed a culture of excellence which projects through the practice and our projects. We have created a buzzing studio environment with a carefully selected team of highly qualified graduates and highly skilled professionals, who all share in this ethos. Projects are delivered with passion and rigour in equal measure.
