I was away from home when the job was carried out. The contractor wanted immediate payment. My bank asked me to come back home and inspect the work before making payment. The contractor did not believe me and became agitated and threatened to return and undo the work that had been carried out. Eventually, he agreed to wait until I returned home and inspected the work. I did not appreciate this unprofessional approach. I felt threatened. My bank wanted me to pay via a credit card for extra security. I was disappointed to find that because he was a sole trader he did not have the facility to take a credit card payment.
