Sturminster Newton
Sturminster Newton is a community and also civil parish in the Blackmore Vale location of Dorset, England. It is located on a reduced sedimentary rock ridge in a meander of the River Stour. The community is at the centre of a big milk farming area, around which the community's economy is constructed. The majority of the community (Sturminster) pushes the north side of the river, and includes most shops and solutions, whilst to the south is the smaller sized Newton. Between these two areas is a wide flood plain. The town was the residence of poet and author William Barnes, as well as, for part of his life, Thomas Hardy. The town has 43 shops, a key and high school, as well as a college and also university food catering for children with special educational needs. In the 2011 census the town's civil church had a population of 4,945. A market is held in the town on Mondays. One of the biggest livestock markets in England used to be held right here, however it was closed in 1998 as well as now in its location stands a housing estate as well as a 300-seat area arts centre called The Exchange. The town belongs to the historical West Country Carnival circuit.
