Stump grinding refers to the procedure in which the stump of a tree that has been previously felled is cleared away. Usually during tree felling a couple of inches of the trunk and the root structure are retained in the earth, making the nearby space impractical to use together with potentially attracting bugs or harbouring tree diseases such as honey fungus. If your back garden has stumps in the ground, taking them out can clear the space, presenting you with added space which could be used to improve your lawn or provide fresh areas to lay patio or decking. Specialist stump grinding companies can remove stumps of any scale.
The procedure typically calls for trimming the stump as close to the ground as possible using a chainsaw, and then employing specialised stump grinding equipment to grind away the stump. Stumps are ground down to about 10-12 inches under the dirt surface to allow for replanting, however occasionally landscaping projects may require the stump to be ground deeper than this. The wood chipping that is created by the stump grinding may be either infilled back into the hole and used as mulch in other areas of your garden, or the stump grinding company could remove it for you and dispose of it in an eco-friendly way. In addition, many specialist stump grinding companies offer specialist thin equipment that may be used if there is restricted access to your garden for example, through a side alley.
The typical cost of Stump grinding is around £280. However, costs vary based upon the location and the provider picked. The upper price range can be as high as £336.

Cowdenbeath is a town and burgh in west Fife, Scotland. It lies 5 miles north-east of Dunfermline and 18 miles north of the capital, Edinburgh. The town established around the large-scale coalfields of the region and ended up being a Police Burgh in 1890. Based upon population figures from 2008, Cowdenbeath has a fixed population of around 14081. Within this population, 48.5 percent are male and 51.5 per cent are female, which is consistent with the proportional split by gender in both the Fife and Scottish populations. Preceding 1850, Cowdenbeath was merely a group of farms divided into four districts named after nearby farms. Regional inhabitants of these focal points of progression, which were merging into a single town, convened to choose on a name for the emerging town. The eventual choice was limited to either White Threshes or Cowdenbeath. The arrival of the Oakley Iron Company around 1850 was to have a continued impact upon Cowdenbeath, making the name synonymous with coal-mining for almost 100 years. Shafts were sunk in the vicinity of the old Foulford Washer. It was in the mining for ore that the discoveries of the coal seams were made, and pits were sunk at every corner of the town. Characterising the northern border of Cowdenbeath is a rural landscape, which blends into the Lochore Meadows Country Park, 'The Meadies'. This formerly industrial and mining landscape, which was the home of many pit-heads such as the Mary Pit, whose winding equipment structure looms over the park as a memorial to its considerable mining history, is at present a really attractive area which offers leisure and recreational outdoor facilities. For all your house upgrades, take care to work with highly regarded contractors in Cowdenbeath to ensure quality.
