Kelty
Kelty is located in Fife, Scotland. Kelty is a previous coal mining town in the heart of the old mining heartlands of Fife. It is positioned on the Fife/Kinross-shire border with a population of around 6,000 residents. This was nearer to 9,000 when the coal mining market was still operational in late 1970s as well as early 1980s. Kelty lies alongside the major Edinburgh to Perth road, the M90 freeway, and as a result of this has actually seen several residences constructed mostly for travelers to Edinburgh over the past 5 years. Kelty has 2 primary schools, St. Joseph's and Kelty Primary. After primary school, the majority of students go on to Beath High School, a comprehensive college in Cowdenbeath, or the regional Roman Catholic school, St Columba's High School in Dunfermline. Kelty also has a modern neighborhood centre, as well as a contemporary collection. The local football group is Kelty Hearts who contend in the Lowland Football League, the 5th rate of the Scottish football league system.
