Gorebridge
Gorebridge is a former mining village in Midlothian, Scotland. The village obtains its name from the bridge across the River Gore, a tributary of the South Esk. It was the house of Scotland's very first gunpowder mill, at the Gore Water, that began operating in 1794. Gorebridge has a yearly Gala Day which always occurs on the third Saturday in June. This is much like a town fair, with rides and video games. The gala day has a tradition of picking a Community King and also Queen from the primary schools.
