Saltburn-by-the-sea
Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a seaside community in Redcar and Cleveland, North Yorkshire, England, around 12 miles (19 kilometres) south east of Hartlepool. It lies within the historic limits of the North Riding of Yorkshire. It has a population of around 6,000. The development of Middlesbrough and Saltburn was driven by the discovery of iron stone in the Cleveland Hills and the structure of 2 railways to transfer the minerals. The shoreline at Saltburn exists almost east-west, as well as along much of it runs Marine Parade. To the east of the community is the enforcing Hunt Cliff, covered by Warsett Hill at 166 metres (545 ft). Skelton Beck goes through the woody Valley Gardens in Saltburn, then together with Saltburn Miniature Railway before being signed up with by Saltburn Gill going under the A174 road bridge and also entering the North Sea across the sandy beach. The A174 road number is now used for the Skelton/Brotton Bypass.
