Studley is a huge town and civil parish in the Stratford-on-Avon district of Warwickshire, England. Located on the western side of Warwickshire near the boundary with Worcestershire it is 4 miles (6 kilometres) southeast of Redditch and also 13 miles (21 km) northwest of Stratford-upon-Avon. The Roman road of Ryknild Street, now the A435, passes through the town on its eastern side, alongside the River Arrow. The name stems from the Old English leah, being a meadow or field, where equines, stod, are maintained. Studley is sometimes declared to be the biggest village in England, nevertheless, this is incorrect as it is not even the biggest town in Warwickshire. Although Polesworth and Bulkington are bigger, by population, they could be classified as a rural. The United Kingdom Census 2001 reported Studley's population as being 6,624, decreasing to 5,879 at the 2011 Census.
