Settle
Settle is a tiny market town as well as civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. Historically in the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is offered by Settle train station situated near the town centre, and Giggleswick train station which is a mile away. It is 29 miles (47 kilometres) from Leeds Bradford Airport. The main road via Settle is the B6480, which connects to the A65, attaching Settle to Leeds, Ilkley, Skipton as well as Kendal. The community has a population of 2,421 according to the 2001 Census enhancing to 2,564 at the 2011 Census. Work out belonged to the West Riding of Yorkshire. It is located in Ribblesdale, at the southerly edge of the Yorkshire Dales, within a couple of miles of the Three Peaks. Quickly ignoring the town is Castlebergh, a 300 feet (91 m) sedimentary rock crag, and also to the eastern is Malham which was in the former Settle Rural Area. The River Ribble provided power for Settle's previous cotton mills, and also is currently being used by Settle Hydro, a mini hydroelectric scheme, to provide 50 kW of power to the National Grid.
