Pentre
Pentre is a village, community and electoral ward near Treorchy in the Rhondda valley, dropping within the area district of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. The village's name is taken from the Welsh word Pentref, which converts as homestead, though Pentre is named after a huge farm that dominated the location before the coming of industrialisation. The neighborhood takes in the neighbouring town of Ton Pentre. Two of the most noteworthy businesses to have existed in the Rhondda were both created in Pentre; the Pentre Breweries as well as the Rhondda Engine Works. Population 5,232 (2011 ).
